ABOUT ME

ILLUSTRATOR - VISUAL DEVELOPER - BACKGROUND ARTIST

Passionate about all kinds of art since I was able to hold a pen in my hand, I've always been a quick learner, comfortable with varied roles which require me to work across a variety of tools and projects.
With a background in design and video editing, at first I created e-learning videocourses for professional training. I supervisored the content of the lessons, producing supporting graphics; this gave me the ability to conceptualise, visualise, design and also animate in after effects.

Then I studied concept art, and after a year of freelancing commissions and various collaborations I had my first full time contract as a visual developer for an upcoming TV show at Animoka Studios, in Turin. My responsability is to create worlds, from sketch to clean up for productions, and I can work with 3D for blocking and fast visualizing with Blender and Grease Pencil.
I'm specialyzed in the creation of props and backgrounds, but also color scripts and moodboards. I have a fondness for giving a "soul" to the enviroment with unique atmospheres and a sense of reality described in the most poetic way; I believe that stylization and abstraction are a never ending journey, and it's always challenging to rapresent an imperfect world in the perfect possible way.

I'm a confident communicator, with an eye for detail and the ability to interpret creative needs quickly; at work I'm used to talk and share ideas with the other departments, especially with the storyboarders and the writer to perfectly fit design and stories.

My aim is to build a bridge between the story and the visuals; a creative and dinamic pattern made of colors, shapes and solutions which please the eye and light a spark in the audience.
I like telling meaningful stories which make the kids more adult, and the adults more kids. That's why I also create stories and illustrate them, like I did with the "A light in the tree" project, a little piece of my childhood intimately preserved in few pages; I really hope to always have time for personal projects, experimenting new techniques and go to conferences, meeting new artists and comparing experiences from all the world.

Art is the most intimate thing we have, and also the most shareable one. I really hope to continue this journey; but, for now, I really thank you for coming this far, and hope you found some of my works inspiring!
